CONTEST HISTORY
Title Professional
Title Amateur
I was born on June 20, 1981, in the city of Florianópolis, Brazil. Florianópolis is an island located in southern Brazil, and it is the capital of the State of Santa Catarina. I have lived here throughout my childhood with my parents, Bernadete and Evilásio, and with my younger brother, Bruno.
As a child I enjoyed playing outside, and I had many friends. We would play soccer, fly kites, we were full of energy, and I would always get bruises from playing too much. It was fun. My parents were very close to me at this time of my life.
As a teenager I joined a soccer team, where I excelled and ended up playing for a famous team in southern Brazil. It was at that time that I joined a gym to improve my performance as a soccer player. One thing led to another, and I started powerlifting. I then took part in a number of competitions. The result was that I began bodybuilding, as I fell in love with training and sports. My first show was at a State championship, when I was 19, and I got first place. In the following year, holding only one year of experience in the modality, I was champion at both the Brazilian national competition and Mr. Universe, Nabba. This was the beginning of my career in bodybuilding, and the beginning of my love for competing.
In the year of 2000, when I was 18 years old, I started an engineering course in aquaculture. The course entails studies on the different possible ways of farming aquatic organisms and the development of new technologies, mostly based on the concept of sustainability.
Between 2003 and 2006, I stayed in the USA for some time, during which I trained, competed and took part in the main bodybuilding events.
I conquered the IFBB world title in 2007, which provided me the right to become a professional in bodybuilding. A year and a half after this triumph, at 27 years of age, I decided to debut as a professional in the New York Pro Show, on May 2009.
I am working hard for this and I hope that the year of 2009 will be a good year for my formal entry as a professional.
Sincerely, Eduardo Corrêa.
